Bringing infrastructure to life.
The Network Infrastructure Crew handles the deployment and configuration of the active network equipment that powers IpOctet's cabling infrastructure — installing, racking, and configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points across enterprise environments. These technicians bridge the gap between physical installation and network engineering, performing rack-and-stack operations, fiber patching, initial device configuration, and verification testing.
Perform rack-and-stack operations for network switches, routers, firewalls, UPS units, and PDUs in MDF/IDF closets and data centers
Install and configure Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Meraki, and other enterprise networking equipment per client design documents
Deploy and mount wireless access points (WAPs), verify placement per RF survey, and confirm connectivity
Patch and manage fiber optic and copper cross-connects between active equipment and patch panels
Execute basic switch/router configuration (VLANs, port assignments, trunking, DHCP, IP addressing) from templates or runbooks
Perform network testing and validation including ping sweeps, port verification, throughput testing, and wireless heat mapping
Build out network closets including grounding, cable management, labeling, and environmental monitoring
Join our Network Infrastructure team and deploy critical infrastructure for Fortune 500 companies across all 50 states.
