About This Role
The Structured Cabling Crew installs and certifies the copper cabling infrastructure that supports all data, voice, and building systems for Fortune 500 clients. These technicians execute precision cable pulls, terminations, and Fluke certification testing across large-scale commercial environments — from new construction buildouts to tenant improvement projects. All work must meet or exceed TIA/EIA-568 standards and client specifications with zero defects.
Key Responsibilities

Pull, route, and support Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A copper cabling through cable trays, J-hooks, conduit, and plenum spaces per design specifications

Terminate cables at patch panels, keystones, and RJ-45 connectors using T568A/T568B wiring standards

Install and dress MDF/IDF racks including patch panels, cable management, and labeling per client standards

Perform Fluke DSX certification testing (channel and permanent link) and document all test results for client acceptance

Install cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, and other cable pathway support systems

Read and interpret construction blueprints, floor plans, and low-voltage design drawings
07
Maintain clean job sites, coordinate with general contractors and other trades, and adhere to site safety protocols
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
Required
Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial structured cabling installation
Proficiency in copper cable termination (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A) including punch-down and crimp techniques
Experience operating Fluke DSX CableAnalyzer or equivalent certification testers
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites nationally
Working knowledge of TIA/EIA-568, TIA-569, and TIA-606 standards
Preferred
BICSI Installer 1 (INST1) or Installer 2 (INST2) certification
Experience working in active enterprise environments (data centers, corporate campuses, hospitals)
Familiarity with Panduit, CommScope/Systimax, or Leviton cabling systems
Aerial and underground pathway installation experience

Drill/impact drivers, hole saws, ladders, PPE
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50-70 lbs (cable spools, ladder racks), climb ladders up to 12+ feet, and work on scissor lifts or boom lifts2
Comfortable working in confined spaces (ceiling plenums, raised floors, utility closets) for extended periods3
Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, and reach overhead for full 8-10 hour shiftsEmployment Options
